Confectionery

Parma tempts with thousands of tasty cakes and confectionery items, from its traditional Spongata cake, with honey, raisins, pine nuts, candied citron, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and ground walnuts, to its sweet fritters and patisserie range.
Parma’s tradition of confectionery-making dates back centuries ago, when local confectioners would skilfully bake for the European courts with their genteel traditions.
This heritage has been superbly interpreted by the confectionery industry, which has a long-standing reputation in the area and boasts important production volumes, manufacturing a wide range of items.
